Graduate Study in AED Economics at The Ohio State University
Welcome to the website of the graduate programs in Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics at The Ohio State University. In 2007, Ohio State was ranked fifth in faculty scholarly productivity among agricultural economics departments in the U.S. (Chronicle of Higher Education). Over the past decade, the ranking of our Ph.D. program has risen more than any of its peer programs in the United States (Perry 2004). Our graduate programs, located on the largest university campus in the country, offer students the opportunity to take courses from internationally known faculty, to select elective courses from a rich array of other programs on campus, and to interact with graduate students from around the world. Our faculty establish mentoring relationships with students, working with them one-on-one as they develop and carry out their research. Our graduates take jobs in universities, research institutes, international organizations, governmental agencies, non-governmental agencies, and private firms. An increasing number of our doctoral students are landing faculty positions at major research universities. During the latter half of 2008, AED Economics Ph.D. graduates assumed positions at the University of Kentucky, Mississippi State University, New Mexico State University, Washington State University, and Auburn University. The department offers two graduate degree programs: Learn more:
